I would ask Hrnchamd about it in the current thread, Raym. Everytime I run the DirectX installer, it says it's copying files so I don't know what to tell you. Have you updated your video drivers lately?

Unless there's some auto-updater, no. I didn't update anything, lately.

By the way, I don't suppose anyone has a copy of the old version?

Here you got, Raym. You should just be able to overwrite everything.

You may need to uninstall it completely, Raym, and reinstall it. Make sure you run Morrowind once after you uninstall it and before you reinstall it.

Just to butt in for a moment:

Windows will tell you the pre-requisites are already installed if you have a more recent version. However, more recent versions of programs like DX aren't backwards compatible and are missing files MGE needs. It's best to actually install the standalone redistributable packages for the prerequisites and not rely on windows to tell you something is already installed.

Thanks Elaura, I was just looking for those... I don't trust Windows messages at all, too. :P

So, here's what I've been doing so far...

- Visual C++ is alive and well, it would seem.
- DirectX: not sure, but reinstalled it just in case.
- .net Framework: I can't find a way to install 2.0. I've 4.0 installed, and after Windows blocking my attempts to install 2.0, I've now found that it considers 2.0 incompatible with Vista (I use win 7 32 bit).

As for Morrowind:
I can only run it in full screen. If I try to run in windowed mode, or try ALT+TAB, the pc freezes or I get the old error.
