Pengy's hardware related question

Does this game work with Vista, Windows 7, Mac, or Linux? Is there a way to tweak better performance? Technical issues only, please stay on topic.

Pengy have alot of work ahead. Pengy will try all your tips, thanks! Pengy will get back when Pengy have tried them. Also to answer all questions:

Computer1 & Computer2 use integrated soundcards. And Pengy do not like these. Pengy will have them substituted for real sound cards instead. But that will be later.

Forogt to add: One of the reasons Pengy don't use Win7 x64 right now is because it had some issues with the Logitech G15 keyboard. Also the screen was flickering badly, refreshing constantly. Was very annoying, so Pengy was switching temporarily back to XP because of that. Maybe stuff will be better this time.

As for Pengy's HDD's they're a mix, but the OS is on one of Pengy's Western Digitial. Pengy is trying to remove all HDD's that are not Western Digital.

Pengy have now re-installed Windows7 x64 and hope this should work. First game to test is probably Crysis. Then Pengy will test SR3, because Pengy need to download Steam and then re-install Steam Games (SR3, DoW2)

Crysis ehh ? how did that go ? could be fun to hear

About those blasted soundcards, generally speaking from the abc-geeky is that a dedicated soundcard with its own dsp does its own work instead of the cpu and thus frees resources.:

A caveat there, even the cheaper soundcards can have a dsp, like soundblaster live and the likes, but if you are picky get a better card with less noice (interference in the sound because of badly isolated hardware),not entirely up to date but creative and asus both have good cards :)

Funny story: Pengy's main computer is in the old apartment. Main computer has the codes (Pengy wrote all codes on that computer), so Pengy can't play Crysis. Well... unless Pengy find the DVD-box for the game... but... so boring, Pengy rather wait, tee hee!

I haven't got any problem with an integrated Realtek soundcard so far, but I think the memory needs to be maxed out to let say 8 Gb RAM DDR2/DDR3 (666/800/1066/1366 MHz) is much better than only 6 Gb RAM-DDR2 (666/800/1066 MHz) if possible and large diskspace is another factor to take into consideration when it's comes to increasing the computers performance.
