Mod hosting

Postby darthsloth74 » Tue Jan 03, 2012 9:02 pm

Hi I just had a couple of questions in regard to uploading mods. I have read through the other topic by fable2 but I wanted to add specific questions which is why I posted a new topic.

I recently removed all my Skyrim mods from another site for reasons I don't want to discuss and I was planning on uploading some here.

I'd just like to know if I can specify permissions, nothing fancy just if you use anything from this mod in your own work please credit me etc and please don't upload this mod to another site without permission. I understand 25MB is the file size limitation is that still correct?

Also am I able to update the mod at a later date should I need to fix or add anything?

Thank you. :-)

I don't think we have a size limit. I do know that you should specify permissions in your mod readmes, that's where anyone looking for them would look.
The four golden rules of mods/gaming/life:
1) You want it, you make it.
2) You don't like it, don't play it.
3) If you make it and you like it, don't listen to anyone else.
4) If you ask for criticism, expect to get it.

Can't follow the rules?

Elaura: Ok maybe I misread something. I'll automatically be putting permissions/credits in my readmes anyway. Thank you.:-)

If you do run into any type of limit or type out, put your mod on a temporary hosting site like 4shared and pm me the link. I'll upload it via FTP and put a link to it in your thread. I also have the ability to attach a mod uploaded via FTP to a post, but I have to ask our server guru how to do that again before I can.

If you do run into any issues, let me know. Also, if you promote your work here at the officials, note that directly linking to adult content isn't allowed there. You can, however, point to our portal page (http://www.wolflore.net will take one to our portal page), then tell your audience to register and look for our adult Skyrim content. General stuff can be linked to and anybody can look and download it without having to register.

Jac: No its not adult at all. Just hi-res texture replacers for Skyrim, higher resolution, nicer textures in the vanilla art style nothing adult or lore breaking.

It won't be an issue to direct link to us then. To attach files, either start a new thread or use the Post Reply button and then the Upload Attachment button (should be on the lower left, but some of our themes may move it to the lower right). With pictures, if you use the Place Inline function, the board will create a thumbnail with a pretty border that a member can click on to get the larger picture, like this:

Jac: Thanks for the info, may be a while before I upload though, my mods need some serious organising and one or two improvements I want to implement.
