Northern Ireland Town Fakes Prosperity for G8 Summit

Postby fable2 » Fri May 31, 2013 3:40 pm

When Tsarina Catherine (of beloved memory!) chose to go on tours of Russia, it's said her ministers erected fake villages to make everything look prosperous. Where the G8 Summit is concerned history now repeats itself, like a truck rolling backwards to make sure it hits you:

"...The town of Enniskillen, in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland is sprucing up for some very special guests: President Obama, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and Russian President Vladimir Putin, to name just three. In a little over two weeks they and other leaders will gather for a G8 summit at a golf resort in Enniskillen. And as the date approaches the cleanup is moving into high gear. It includes new coats of paint on houses, tidying up lawns, and putting up fake storefronts on shuttered businesses...In other words, grocery shops, butcher shops, pharmacies, you name it, they have placed large photographs in the windows that if you were driving past and glanced out the window, it would look as if this was a thriving business."

Shame on them. This Age of the Central Bankers in reality is an economic holocaust. There is no end in sight and they have no idea what to do. The measures that the Central Banks are currently allowing can't go on forever but one thing is certain, we will pay for all their mistakes while they live in luxury off of our hard work.

I suspect (and that's all it is: a suspicion) they know full well socialism for the wealthy and austerity for the rest doesn't work. This isn't a mistake. It's just a really good time to push a true grab for more of what they feel they deserve.

Sadly, I'm usually right about these things. I suspect you are, too.

On the bright side, the French came up with a great cure for wealth flaunted in the face of poverty... As I watch the Obamas flitting off here and there for multi-million dollar vacations at taxpayer expense, while cutting White House tours and hot meals for our troops in combat zones, I have to wonder how long this can go on, eh?

As long as their backers have all the wealth necessary to own more than 90% of the media in the US. Oh, there are differences on matters of politics: network X prefers the Dems, and network Y prefers the GOPers. But no really differences on substantive issues. Both major parties want the same thing, only the GOP wants it now, at once, with a snarl, and the Dems (or at least, the majority--who are now even primarying the old style left Dems in major races) want it with a smile and with at a slightly slower pace.

Pick your flavor: blueberry or strawberry crap. It's still crap.
