Mass Effect 1 help needed (Licence issue)

Postby Pengy » Thu Jan 05, 2012 9:33 am

Help! Pengy just re-installed Mass Effect on the main computer. Pengy manually removed it before formatting this computer BUT it complains that Pengy have exceeded the licenes. What should Pengy do?

Contact EA?

Install crack?

Go to EA office in europe and slap them silly with a copy of Mass Effect?

I would contact EA with your registration key and see what they say. They may need to reset it on their end. If that doesn't work, well, there are other ways to get around DRM. :evilgun:

Jac had to go round and round with EA about a SimCity game he bought me. Eventually they got it sorted. There was a "mistake" with the licensing and a whole bunch of discs were sent out with the wrong licenses . . . so they just deactivated them and now the poor tech support guys have to wait until each customer with a problem calls to sort it out.

I think slapping them silly with a flipper would be funnier.

Pengy: What a nightmare. I wonder if I will have the same issue if I reinstall mine. Thats the thing about EA they only support products for a limited time before they decide to mess up their own online verification checks. Let me know if you get this sorted, I want to know I can go back and play Mass Effect again one day.

Pengy called EA Swedish Support today. They fixed Pengy's copy. But it's still retarded, because this will not make people want to buy games, if they have a limit on the amounts of install. EA are very counter productive....

No EA are just retarded period.(My opinion, so I guess I can say that) ;) Interestingly enough this whole activation nonsense was dropped when Mass Effect 2 was released because the Bioware fans really complained about it. The activation was only required for Cerberus Network and the DLC. Glad you got your game working though Pengy. :bouncy:
